Amendment to Dress Rules - Burnley Golf Club
The following amendments are now approved standards of dress for Burnley Golf Club:
Tailored Shorts are acceptable but must not be below knee length. Ladies may wear ¾ length tailored trousers of the sort associated with ladies golfing attire. Shorts may be worn in the Clubhouse except where there is an alternative dress code in place in the Clubhouse for specific functions.
Only shirts with a collar and sleeves may be worn on the course and in the Clubhouse. However, collarless shirts specifically designed and manufactured as golf attire are acceptable.
On the course, it is expected that shirts will be worn within the waistband of shorts or trousers, unless such items are specifically designed to be worn outside the waistband as is currently the case with some ladies attire.
Socks must be worn at all times on the golf course and should be of a predominately single colour, preferably white. Trainer type socks are acceptable both on the course and in the Clubhouse.
Footwear on the golf course must be of a type specific to golfing and trainers remain unacceptable on the golf course.
In the Clubhouse, sandals, trainers and footwear other than beach type flip flops are acceptable provided they are clean, undamaged and have not been worn on the golf course. Socks must be worn with all footwear in the Clubhouse other than with sandals.
Hooded garments, hats or those items of clothing associated with outside wear both on and off the course should not be worn in the Clubhouse lounges.
Smart clothing and footwear is required at all times both on the Course and in the clubhouse and you are asked to observe these relaxed rules, which will be subject to review, in order to maintain the traditions of our Club.
